Top 5 Instagram Adventure Buddies
As a big fan of internet animals, and in celebration of our Adventure Buddies Rescue Dog Meet & Greet event with Motley Zoo Animal Rescue, I wanted to make sure that everyone was following the below dogs on Instagram. If you catch me on my phone at my desk, I am probably checking in on these pups to make sure they had a good day, so I, in turn, can have a good day too. While I am known around town as a cat lady, and am told by friends my personality and demeanor too represents that of a cat (including knocking things off tables, especially when you tell me not to) I can’t help but find myself obsessing over these good boys and girls, sharing their best lives with all of us.
Loki the Wolfdog
If there was a dog version of Ultimate Ninja Warrior, Loki the Wolfdog would win every episode. This dog fears nothing and has the most relaxed look on his face doing just about anything, except when he runs in the snow, then he dons the biggest, tongue out smile. Loki lives every persons van life dream with his parents and best bud, you can’t help but want to go outside when you look at his feed. Wayward even sells the LokiWolf collection of collars and leashes from Wolfgang Man & Beast, because there is no better bond than between man and beast.
Ryder the Samoyed
Ryder the Samoyed, also known as the Okanagan ice floof, will do anything for chimkin and puts most soccer goalies to shame with his ball handling skills. Exploring every corner of Canada looking for water to play in, even sewer runoffs are good enough for him, Ryder doesn’t let anything get in his way, not even frozen lakes or ice storms. His motivational aroo’s are sure to get anyone excited and are my personal favorite way to start the day. If you need more white floof, check out his friend @coconutricebear for a little urban exploration.
As the official unofficial mascot of the Patagonia Worn Wear Tour, Rudy lives the road dog life and has the hotel photos to prove it. He balances hard work repairing all kinds of apparel to keep them from ending up in landfills, with the occasional snooze or two, because it’s all about balance. Rudy likes to surf and explore his sense of fashion, while he doesn’t post often, anytime you can catch a glimpse you can’t help but chuckle. For special appearances by Rudy and to find out where he will be next, check out @wornwear.
Ivy the Frenchie
In or out of her wheels, Ivy the french bulldog is a force to be reckoned with. She loves long runs on the beach and cuddles with kisses from her sister Rosie. Watching this angel bounce up and down ready to play should make anyone realize there’s nothing stopping them from making the most of everyday. Ivy has a beautifully illustrated children’s book, “Ivy the Very Determined Dog” about her life on wheels and not letting anything get in her way of chasing her dreams. I’m not crying…
Gracie the Bark Ranger
Gracie might have the best job in the world as the official bark ranger at Glacier National Park. She helps keep the wildlife, well wild, by herding them safely from parking lots where they may encounter humans or attract larger predators to the area. She helps educate on the BARK principles (Bag your waste, Always wear a leash, Respect wildlife, Know where you can go) and happily spends almost every day exploring a beautiful national park. As an Australian Shepard known for herding, this is the perfect job for her natural skills and is my Monday motivation to go to work with the same passion and drive to make a difference.
BONUS: Because who can pick just 5…
This brood of senior rescue dogs is total retirement goals. They enjoy everything from road trips in their RV to car rides for breakfast burritos and of course lots of naps. Not only is this family a hodgepodge of dogs, but there’s a pig, chicken and rabbit too. Their dad, Steve, is the kindest man and a huge advocate for adopting rescue dogs, especially senior dogs that tend to get forgotten about, and giving them the best for the rest of their lives. This gang takes enviable family portraits and still has enough spit and vinegar left in them to entertain for hours, I always look forward to finding out what they’re up to next! Follow @susiesseniordogs to meet adoptable senior dogs that have been previously overlooked.
